Mauritanian Conus Shell Bracelet
Traveling in Morocco several years ago, I found some old Mauritanian conus shell hair ornaments in the Marrakesh souk. I only wish I'd bought more at the time. These shells or "koos" have been used for body ornamentation and trade since 20,000 B.C. and were also highly valued as currency. Prong set bezel; file-carved sterling silver clasp. $150.
